Pizza Review
Unique among pies on LBI, MKT Eatery uses sourdough in their pizza, all of which are 14 inches in size, (a little bigger than personal pizzas) and a brick oven to cook it. Not sure if it’s the kind of dough or the temperature at which it’s baked but there isn’t anything crispy about this pie at all. Very soft & slightly chewy. It’s unfortunate because the sauce is outstanding, fairly sweet with a little zip on it, and a light basil & oregano flavor. The cheese is a tad disappointing, almost like something you’d find on Little Caesar’s or Pizza Hut pies. But the fresh ingredients all work together nicely to produce a very solid pie. Another example of pizza that doesn’t travel well and would probably score a bit higher if eaten on-site. Their specialty pies look much better than their traditional plain cheese pizzas, certainly worth a try.
