A little greasy but very good.

My first visit to Modern Apizza and I have mixed feelings about it. My posted score is for the half sausage half plain regular pizza which was good but not anywhere near some of the other area spots. The clam pizza in my photo was terrible and I’ll be kind with the 5.7 score I’m giving it. I thought I had the Rona again for the second time as there was literally no flavor what so ever to this pizza. I guess I’m spoiled on Zuppardi’s fresh clam pie which is heaven. One the regular pizza it was very doughy as I like the crispy thin crust. I don’t know I think place is a bit overrated and I’ll stick to the others I like.

I think we caught them on an off day. Every piece fell apart and there was virtually no sauce, but with that being said it still didn’t disappoint. It was still very very good apizza.

My advice - let it cool a bit , second slice gets a higher rating than the first . Aggregate score from 4 people

Not 8.8... it was busy, mine seemed undercooked on the bottom. Still really really good. Meat was amazingly chunky!

Storied place — really good pizza, great experience. It’s not the best I’ve ever had but no regrets about driving out to try a few of the New Haven Big 4

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, Sally’s and Frank Pepe’s had waits of over an hour. Tried the third most popular as a result. Probably the greatest pizza I’ve ever had

Better then Sally’s and Frank PePe. Very nice flavor. Seasoning on point. Little flop.

Yeah it looks like I’m in a body distortion mirror here and there. Another very good pie. Located about a mile away from the other titans of pizza on Wooster St, Modern has a great system for serving their clients during COVID. Bonus review of Foxon Park.

After trying all 3 places (pepes, Sally’s, modern) I declare Sally’s the best in New Haven

Good, not great. This apizza is half mozzarella & half Italian Bomb (with sausage, bacon, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers & onions). I thought this pizza was a bit chewy and all the toppings made it soggy. Was expecting a crisp pizza!

My 2nd favorite of the 4 New Haven spots! Half cheese half “Italian Bomb,” both were killer. All of the New Haven spots had stand-out crust and sauce.

Really outstanding pizza. Have had Pepe’s and Sally’s and Modern is really by far the best of the three.

Not at cheesy as the other New Haven pizzas. Sauce was well seasoned though
