My first stop in New Haven. Was very disappointed. The guy behind the counter was super nice, but watching how fast they turn out so many pizzas I wasn’t very optimistic from the start.

Finally got to try this pizza. Definitely elite. If I am going to rank the New Haven big 3 I would go Sally’s #1, then Modern followed by Pepe’s.

Very good pie probably my 2nd favorite Pep/ Sausage in New Haven. Crust was a bit thicker then others which made it a bit doughier then others however, the premium ingredients made this pizza slap and, brought the pizza to a next level.

I finally got here. Being from Long Island this was supposed to be one of the best. Disappointed is an understatement. 75% of Long Island pizza restaurants are better. Super floppy. No char. Doughy. Good flavor but one side crispy the other 3/4 almost raw. Sticking with Long Island pizza. What a waste

My #3 spot in New Haven, but I will not fault you if this place is your first choice. Amazing pizza, super crispy, great undercarriage, and very flavorful. They do put a little more cheese than Sally’s or Pepe’s, but that’s more of a personal preference for me than anything. I still love their pizza.

June 7, 2024 it was a great day to enjoy a slice from modern. The slice sauce was great, and the char left our fingers black! The only thing that wasn’t up the ‘par’, it had too much flop! Cheers Modern!

Great pizza! Love the mozzarella, could use alittle bit more sauce and it is floppy. The Italian bomb pizza is awesome in its own way too.

It gets better every time I come here. Best pizza in New Haven. Maybe in Connecticut. SO GOOD. Amazing sauce amazing cheese ratio. 🍕🍕🍕
