Alright Franky. Well while in New Haven...Sally’s was closed for “oven maintenance.” So here I am. Modern Apizza. The place was jamming when I walked in, and everyone was excited to get a piece of this pie. Was it because Davey Pageview’s review? 🤷🏻‍♂️ one bite everyone knows the rules. I suffered my first 3rd degree burn to the mouth, but it was worth it. Quality quality quality. I noticed it was a little saucy like Pres said, but it was molten fucking lava what do you expect?! It was a little greasy, but not as much as Pepe’s. The crust was on point. Crispy and chewy in the exact spots where you want it. Sauce was delicious. Overall quality pizza that you have to come to New Haven to try other than what’s on Wooster Street.

A good step above the west coast. First stop on our holy trinity tour. Good pepperoni - also went with the eggplant - which is a parm style - very nice.

Modern is my choice for #1 overall New Haven’t apizza joint. Has a whole lot of char on the bottom from the oil-fired oven. Best cheese of any of the heavy hitters. Sausage is incredible much like Zuppardi’s. The muzz is great as well.

Very cheesy and delicious. A little on the greasy side could have been cooked for a few more minutes but it was good. Definitely worth the trip.

Mozzarella here was easily the best by far out of the holy trinity of places. Franks has the best crust, sally has the best sauce, and Modern has the best cheese all around. This one wins.

Got the traditional mozzarella. Very good pie, tastes like they used part skim cheese not as flavorful as whole milk so a little knock there. Dough is great and baked to a perfect new haven style
