Probably would have scored it higher but I got a bubble on my first bite. Not a bubble man. But that is some good Za. Can’t wait to compare to other new haven favorites thanks Jon and Danielle!

New haven style at its best. Great sauce, a little sweet. Burnt crust in the best way. Highly recommend when in New Haven!

The pepperoni was awesome. Best I’ve ever had. Crust cooked great. Right amount of sauce. Great pizza

Very good pizza. Not the best I’ve ever had but really good. Ate in the restaurant so it was fresh.

The Cheese was incredible! Perfect Char, and the Meatballs quite good. Can’t go wrong with just a plain pie here too. Highly recommend a stop here.

So I have to say I’m pretty disappointed. It’s too oily, too cheesy, and very little crisp. Taste is ok. Very overrated. I give it a 6.2. If it wasn’t for the ingredients and their reputation, I’d give it a 5.2.

Modern is the local go-to, the people’s ah-beetz. If you’re into a surf and turf feel, the Clams Casio pie is the move. It has clams, bacon, peppers, onions, and whatever else is in a Clams Casio (trust me, it is bomb). There isn’t anything not to like, unless you hate everything that is good and pure about American Freedom ™. Modern’s Meatball pie is also incredible. It’s sliced like a sausage and cooked to a light crisp. If you have a table of at least four, get this and the Clams Casino. You may feel like you’re dying a little on the inside, but that’s a piece of your soul reaching ever so closer to heaven. As they say, there ain’t no sweats like the meat sweats.

The Best of today’s Big Three tour, edging out the more beautiful Sally’s and more legendary Pepe’s. This pie had perfect crust char and thickness, and delicious taste blend on sauce and cheese.
