Modern Apizza

Truly great pizza. Sally’s was busy as hell, so we tried the next best thing. This is a pizza that belongs in the 9’s. Crispy edges, a little soupy in the middle, but tasted amazing. Awesome brick oven inside too that you can see from the takeout counter.

If it was a little more crispy with a better undercarriage it would of been perfect

Good flavor. Big flop. Little too greasy

This pie had some of the best mozz I’ve ever tasted. Crust was NY style and perfectly charred in a 90 year old brick oven. This place will see me again.

Extremely good pizza I believe it needs a little more sauce. It’s very cheesy, but the crust is phenomenal.

A great, well rounded pizza. Crispy crust but with flop, thick cheese, wish there was a tad more sauce

Garlic cheese bread was also fantastic.

Went here 10 days after going to Sally’s and I have to say I was blown away at how much better Modern was to Sally’s. The crust, the sauce, the cheese all simply amazing. I’m not much for the clam pie but my wife had one at both places and she said the Modern pizza had more and richer tasting garlic, better char on the crust, and fresher tasting clams. She was happy at Sally’s but said Modern was the best pizza she had ever had.

Very good pizza. Similar style to sallys but more seasoning to the cheese but a different take a on the sauce.

Was told this is the best of the big 3, still not totally convinced but wow was the cheese solid. Great undercarriage, crisp, and cheese. Not much sauce but as a result the slices are thin and ideal.

My favorite of the Big 3. This could have been a little bit more well done but orders were flying even at 11am. Overall my personal preference for best taste in New Haven.
