Best in class Roman style pizza. Perfect ratio of cheese to sauce. Crispy crust and the basil is super fresh. Comparing this pizza to anything else in Maine isn’t fair because it’s comparing professionals to amateurs in the pizza game. This place should be your first phone call when ordering a pie.

Amazing Pizza

Let’s get one thing clear. This is artisanal pizza. High end ingredients and I think probably mostly organic. Because of this the flavor is different than the bar pie you may be used to. I’m grading it as an artisan pizza. Sometimes when you’ve eaten low grade cheese and bread for a while it’s hard to understand some on this level. Try to rate based on the quality even though the flavor may be different than what you are used to.

After trying all Dave’s stops so far not impressed. It’s not bad but it’s no 8.4..

Look I get why Dave gave it such a high review. It made fresh there and the sauce is super fresh.The crust is to die for! I am just more of a Bar pizza guy. It’s very good. But I wanted more cheese and not as chunky tomatoes. I also drove 2 hour to get this pie. Not saying I was pet down at all. Its very good just not my kinda pie.

Great sauce and crisp on the crust

Very good. Excellent sauce. The dough makes the whole thing. Right up there with places like Modern, Joe’s and John’s of Bleecker

Great crust that’s light, crispy, and zero flop. If you like sauce, this is your kind of pizza. The pizza does not sit heavy in one’s stomach. Worth the two hour drive for sure!

To note: These were reheated square slices an hour before closing. The sauce was the standout, but I did not like the crust. It had a sour taste to it and was overcooked on the bottom.

Literally drove 2 hours from Boston to Maine to have this pizza again. Easily one of my favorite pizzas of all time - and the staff is super friendly. Make sure to order 45 minutes ahead of time.

Believe the hype. Killer sauce, crispy out of this world. As of right now I don’t think there’s a better pie in Portland, maybe even the state. Could’ve had a little more cheese but that’s just me nitpicking

Unless you like deep dish or heavy crust with cheese going everywhere, then this isn’t for you. Dave was definitely off his game when he did this review. Tons of flop but decent sauce.

Awesome pizza. Sauce was perfect and crust was crunchy and thin. The mozzarella cheese was fresh and creamy. I definitely recommend this place.
