Nice, thin crust with good crunch. Decent sauce and cheese.

Solid pizza overall. Kinda had a nostalgic frozen pizza taste in a good way.

For anyone questioning Dave's insanely high score on this, Monte's is the pizza place that Dave grew up on and would go to as a child after sporting events. Because of this he has very fond memories of this spot and due to that he gave them a massive bump score wise. If he had never gone here before I would guess he would go in the low sevens or high sixes, as I have been to a bunch of Bar pie spots now and this is nowhere near the best. Monte's Pizza is incredibly thin, yet wasn't super crispy. The crust was almost cardboard like in texture. While the cheese and sauce was very flavorful, but the pizza was pretty greasy throughout. On a positive note there are a handful of really good pizza spots in the North shore. Volo craft Pizza is literally only a few minutes away from here and I guarantee will blow your mind! It's easily the best Detroit style I've ever had! Only about 10 minutes from there is Bianchi's which is right on Revere beach. Do yourself a favor and make Dave proud and do a little pizza trip including these three at the very least!

Good taste, not too greasy, really crunchy and thin crust. Almost cardboard like. All in all cheese and sauce taste good, crust and base stink.

Great thin crust, crunchy, zero flop, excellent sauce, I prefer my cheese a bit more gooey, but still very good all around slice, very flavourful

Extremely good sauce, thin crispy crust, good sauce to cheese ratio. Overall great place

Perfect cheese to sauce ratio, thin crust, can eat an entire pizza by myself.

Crispiest pizza I've ever had. Good taste. Very good pizza. Memorable for the crunch.

Crispy crust but nothing special about the sauce or cheese. $10 for a personal pizza?

(FOLLOW UP REVIEW) I went there knowing I don’t like bar style but because of Dave’s review I thought I would try it out. The sauce had to much oregano but the garlic bread I got as a side made up for it

Seriously makes zero sense how Portnoy gave this pizza a perfect score. Owners must’ve greased him or something. An argument can be made for Chuck E. Cheese being better…

Slight tang, no Bostonian flop, very bland. If Dave gave this a 10, DiGiorno is a 15.

Good crisp but that's it. There's basically nothing to it. It's bland and just a little bit of tang. I have no idea how Dave gave it a 10

OK, first and foremost? You need to understand why Dave gave this pizza a perfect 10. Hint. It’s not for the overall quality. Now don’t get me wrong. The pizza is decent. Cheese is of good quality, sauce is solid and even though the crust doesn’t have a ton of flavor by itself, it’s pleasantly crispy…almost “cracker-like”. I enhanced my pizza with a slight shake of salt and a moderate dusting of grated Parmesan cheese from the glass filled container on the counter. It’s a 12” pie, cut into 8 little slices for $8.50. I rate it a 7.1. So, why the highest score in One Bite Pizza history? El Prez grew up here on the North Shore of Massachusetts, playing all sorts of sports with his little buddies. Believe it or not, he was actually a good athlete all the way up through high school. After a game or practice it was not uncommon to head to Monte‘s for pizza. This is where Portnoy developed his love for pizza. Bottom line? Is this a pilgrimage-worthy destination for amazing pizza? No. But, if you are a Barstool/Portnoy/One Bite fan, it would definitely be worth a 45 minute detour so you could say, “I ate at the place where it all began”.
