Seriously makes zero sense how Portnoy gave this pizza a perfect score. Owners must’ve greased him or something. An argument can be made for Chuck E. Cheese being better…

Slight tang, no Bostonian flop, very bland. If Dave gave this a 10, DiGiorno is a 15.

Good crisp but that's it. There's basically nothing to it. It's bland and just a little bit of tang. I have no idea how Dave gave it a 10

OK, first and foremost? You need to understand why Dave gave this pizza a perfect 10. Hint. It’s not for the overall quality. Now don’t get me wrong. The pizza is decent. Cheese is of good quality, sauce is solid and even though the crust doesn’t have a ton of flavor by itself, it’s pleasantly crispy…almost “cracker-like”. I enhanced my pizza with a slight shake of salt and a moderate dusting of grated Parmesan cheese from the glass filled container on the counter. It’s a 12” pie, cut into 8 little slices for $8.50. I rate it a 7.1. So, why the highest score in One Bite Pizza history? El Prez grew up here on the North Shore of Massachusetts, playing all sorts of sports with his little buddies. Believe it or not, he was actually a good athlete all the way up through high school. After a game or practice it was not uncommon to head to Monte‘s for pizza. This is where Portnoy developed his love for pizza. Bottom line? Is this a pilgrimage-worthy destination for amazing pizza? No. But, if you are a Barstool/Portnoy/One Bite fan, it would definitely be worth a 45 minute detour so you could say, “I ate at the place where it all began”.

El Prez gave this place a 10.0 which is ridiculous. Think of it as the best frozen pizza you’ve ever had. The crust is crispy like a saltine cracker, which is what keeps you coming back for more.

Almost perfect pizza it's sauce is the only thing holding it back but it's amazing

Pizza was ok, not all the rave that Dave gave it. This is not South Shore bar pizza on the North Shore. At best it is somewhat of a hybrid. If you want good bar pizza you have to go south of Boston!

Frozen pizza style but better ingredients. Great sauce and decent cheese but crust thin/dry

I expected more from this one, I really did. To start with the bad, it was the cheese. There just wasn’t enough for me. The dough to this pizza bordered on downright ugly. Although the center had a good flop to it, the edge was perhaps the hardest part to get through with just how hard and crunchy it was. The good and perhaps great part of this pizza is the sauce. The tomato flavor to it combined with the herb blend made it such that eating this pizza was still enjoyable. All in all, not a bad option if you’re in the area but certainly not worth making a pilgrimage for just because Dave rated it a 10.0.

Alright, Monte’s...not a 10...not even close. BUT...the sauce is excellent. If not for the sauce this would have been in the low 6s. Crust is thin and floppy with very little flavor, but the sauce is so good it pulls up the score. Cheese is good and not too much or too little. Bar pizza. That’s the review.

To start the service was amazing. Now to the pizza. The crust had so much flavor and it's carriage was on point. The crust was also perfectly crunched. It was well done on the bottom while the inside had it's fluff. The sauce was absolutely amazing. Definitely the stand out for the pizza. It has so much flavor. It's a nice savory flavor with a hint of sweetness to help the bread stand out. Overall the sauce is great. Now the cheese. I'm not going to say the cheese is bad because it absolutely isn't. It's great cheese. Not greasy at all and holds it's own. However the pizzas needed a little bit on tang and the cheese would have been perfect to do that. Overall you cannot go wrong with the pizza. It's cheap price and outstanding quality is absolutely outstanding.

Great taste, love the old fashion setting, While I’m not a fan on flatbread pizza I respect this one.

Dave! Please go back and fix this score! Please! I’ve been to 6 or 7 joints you’ve scored and I agree with you whole heartedly. This pizza is trash! Drove 2 hours out of my way for a 10. Trash

Of course I had to go to the place Dave infamously gave a 10 due to hometown bias. Anyways, I thought it was solid, nothing special though. Could’ve had more crisp apart than the crust, and also very light and thin which isn’t necessarily up my ally.

I heard about this holy grail of pizza from old Dave’s boy. So I gathered up my family of 9 to the promise land this is Monte’s in Lynn, Mass. We drove all the way from Utah risking life and limb only to find out their pizza taste like it’s from the frozen food aisle in Walmart! Shame on you Dave, giving this trash can pizza a 10. HOW DARE YOU!
