Pizza Review
Ok errr Alright Frankie...Pizza Snob here. 1st review on One Bite and the bar has been set very high. This IS NOT MOVIE TIME PIZZA! New shop with a talented Pizza maker, OLD SKOOL pizza is here and hopefully to stay for a long, long time. I’m a bit shocked and surprised at the reviews that are currently up. Not sure what the 2 clowns who visited Old Skool and wrote about it on One Bite were thinking...maybe just a bad day? Anyways back to Old Skool; Pizza is superb. Crust is fresh and doesn’t have that frozen taste like so many other local spots. Sauce is fresh and has a very good abound of tang and I’ll get to that later. Cheese is standard and works well with everything else. Zero to 3 on the flop and that’s perfect by me. Now, back to the crust, dough, and sauce; talked to the owner and he broke it down for me. Sour dough from a starter more than 5 years old. Real pizza people will understand. Dough and crust literally taste like you’re eating NYC pie, not Westchester Pizza. REAL San Marzano tomato’s in his sauce. Makes a HUGE difference. Dude seemed to have his stuff together and that goes along way in my eyes and bumps up the score. Old Skool is legit and the pizza is unlike anything in its vicinity. Well not like anything I’ve tasted so far. I’ll be reviewing a lot and I’m glad Old Skool was my first. Great job, and I didn’t burn my face off.
