Pizza Review
I’ve been looking forward to trying this place for quite some time now. The Grandma Pizza always looks so good in the pictures. I wouldn’t say it disappointed, but i was hoping for a little more out of this place. The plain slices looked great but i didnt get one, i should have. The Sicilian was good, cooked well-done, i had to get a slice while we waited because thick crust is my wifes favorite. The sauce could use some work on the sicilian. The dough was great. The well done crispy edges made for a few really good bites. As for the cheese, it was a little rubbery, but was cooked well and i liked it. I’d give it like a 7.7. The Grandma was crispy too where it wasnt cut. The sauce was kind of soupy in the middle on top and it leaked through the cuts into the crust and hurt the crisp factor but everywhere else on this pie was very crispy. It was slightly thinner than i thought it would be. I know grandmas are thin square pizzas but in Ling island theyre usually a little thicker than this. The sauce , other than being too watery, had a nice fresh flavor of tomatoes and garlic. The cheese was ok, kind of rubbery but thats common with fresh mozzarella. I liked it a lot. Much better than most places in the Capital Region. Almost gave it a flat 8. Maybe i’ll update this review after i try the regular cheese pizza.
