Pizza Review
Ok Frankie, unless you are from NEPA, and specifically the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area, you will not be familiar with this pizza. Yes, it’s a store bought pizza but not frozen. You will find this in the grocery store not in the freezer section with all the other garbage, but this will be in a white box, usually by the deli meats and cheese. An iconic staple from my childhood and it provides a really tasty snack. Does it stand up to fresh made pizza from your local pizzerias? Of course not! But if you want to try something different and in the mood for a tasty snack, pop one of these 12x12 trays in your air fryer, bake for 10 minutes, then blast it with a broiler for about 30 seconds to brown the delicious American cheese, and it’s just awesome goodness. It’s made in the “Old Forge” style, which is only found in NEPA (see Dave’s reviews from the area). For those uninformed goombas, The Scranton area and it’s surrounding communities has a heavy Italian American ancestry and some of the best damn Italian food that I have had the pleasure of tasting - a pizza joint on every friggin corner. Sure beats the pizza desert I am surrounded with in the Lehigh Valley. That’s a review - done with my rant.
