Pizza Review
Looks like a New Haven pie, sliced like a New Haven pie, but doesn’t have that signature New Haven crisp. The dough was shockingly soft and floppy, fairly thin and tasty, but no real char or crisp, minimal crunch in the crust. This pizza definitely could have used more time in the oven; you might have to ask for it well done. The cheese is a pretty standard blend of shredded mozzarella, a tad salty. Not a very greasy pie, so it can’t be blamed for the slight saltiness. The sauce leaves a bit to be desired, mostly lacking in quantity. There’s just nothing distinctive about what little sauce there is to go around. This seems to be an atypical pie compared to other pics I’ve seen from this joint. This is more of a generic football pizza than quality New Haven pie. Solid, yet unspectacular pizza; it gets the job done but doesn’t dazzle. I feel like I didn’t get their best effort. I’m quite certain with some more crisping and another ladle of sauce, this pizza could easily climb closer to the 8s.
