New York Pizza

The good news is… it is pizza. The bad news is… it’s terrible. Sauce is so overly sweet I thought it was a dessert pizza. The beer selection is the best thing about this place.

Sweet sauce, little flop, little greasy. Solid pizza

The pizza had the flop, great temp and texture! The sausage is what made this pie, wife don’t like sausage except from me. But good stuff for BIRMINGHAM

Solid pizza. Sauce could be more flavorful. Certainly don’t skimp on toppings. Will be back. 6.7

Football pizza. It’s ok

Went in with too high of expectations and left crushed, defeated, disappointed... really wanted this place to be great but the cheese pizza was just average. Your run of the mill bowling alley pizza.

Super long wait with a handful of people, rubbery cheese, sauce was average, crust just had a bit of crunch.

One bite everyone knows the rules. Solid zaa. Missing that extra pizzazz to put it over the top. Crust was soaked in grease. Casual neighborhood joint and good service. Miss the old place from years ago with initials of patrons carved into the picnic tables. Will be back.

Very good pizza. Lots of grease. Lot of flop. Fork and knife pie. The sauce makes the pizza.

My middle of the road pizza. Or “hockey rink pizza”. Nothing great. Nothing bad. Just standard out of the box pie.

First time visiting New York Pizza in Homewood. They told me it’s been around for 35+ years. They don’t do a lot of advertising. They let their pizza do the talking. I went with the Harlem (meat lovers) pizza. At first sight, the pizza didn’t blow my socks off. But my mom always told me not to judge a book by its cover. Definitely has the New York flop. After first bite, I knew it was a good slice. The crust stole the show. It was light and delicious. The sauce has a little sweetness to it. A lot of different style pizzas to chose from. Great beer selection. Not the greatest vibe in the place, but I went there on a Friday for lunch so... I’d go back if in the area.
