Noble Pie

First pizza review out of the country since I went to Milan in 2019. I knew this pizza was going to be great even before I stepped foot in this place. Sometimes pictures can be worth a thousand words, especially with pizza. I stayed in Calgary for an extra three hours just to wait for this place to open up, and I’m so glad I did. This pizza was just infused with flavor. The sauce and basil combining together was one of the best tasting things I’ve ever had on a pizza. They balanced off each other so perfectly. My girlfriend usually takes the fresh basil off her pizza, but even she loved it! The first couple of slices I didn’t get a good taste of the cheese, but it’s also very good. The only thing that is keeping this pizza out of the 9s for me is the sauce without the basil is missing something. The bites I had with basil on them were much better than without. They obviously know what they’re doing here. Calgary officially takes over Philadelphia for the biggest city I’ve done a pizza review in. If you are flying to Calgary or going to Banff this place is worth a three hour detour to try. Trust me!

Half / Half ... Extra Fancy/Roni 8.1 is the Roni I'd give the Extra Fancy a 7.5 Garlic dip was on point The Roni was definitely one of the better pepperoni pizzas I've had. I'm not a big pepperoni guy but I'd definitely come back and get this one again. Had a good amount of flop on the Roni, decent under carriage, fantastic crust with some nice bubble action. Staff was friendly, although we got in right at opening time so it wasn't too busy. Extra points were given for the fact that they let us in. They weren't answering the phone when we tried to order take out and we've had some mishaps in the place when trying to get pizza from here so simply just for the fact that we got in and got our pizza was nice. The place has a bit of a hipster / hole in the wall type of vibe that I approved of so that too factored into my score. Cheers

Girlfriend got the bikini bottom I took the roni. Drove 45 mins because of these reviews, figured I had to try. Wildly underwhelming to say the least. The roni was equivalent to Panago pizza on an elite crust. Bikini bottom was the easy favourite and it is the furthest thing from what I like usually. However, it was almost soggy and was definitely undercooked. It had 0 stability or structure. Lastly, the place had weird hours (normally a good sign) that felt un-earned and hipster dive bar vibes. I felt it was over priced as well. If I lived next door I don’t know that I’d order more than twice a year. I have no clue why all these reviews hyped it up so hard. If this is New York pizza then everything I’ve come to learn from El Pres is a lie.

Pizza as it should be - some of the best in the country

So so good. One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. We had the Roni and the White Brooklyn Pie. Cannot recommend enough.

There isn’t a debate here. When a place advertises a pie as “NY Style” then I expect you to show up. This is the best New York style pizza in Calgary. The only thing missing which would complete the NY experience would be granulated garlic powder as a side. The cheese is underneath the pepperoni slices which gives it a gorgeous mouth feel in every bite. When I close my eyes, I feel like I’m on Long Island again. YOU. GOTTA. EAT. HERE.

Incredible and worth the wait/price/ and 20 minute drive from my place. Foldable NY style slice, crispy crust, mouth watering sauce, and simple yet elegant toppings. It’s not so much a dinner as it is a religious experience. Cheesus be thy name.
