Came in the last hour of the night, which isn’t great for pizza. But the guy was cool and only asked me to pay $2 for a plain slice—he ended up giving me *two* slices. That counts for something, in my book Anyway, I think if you live in Peekskill, NY most people would recommend Nonna’s as the pizza place to go to. If I’m not mistaken, there are several Nonna’s in the immediate area that are owned by the same people, which includes Forno’s too. I think they’re all brick oven joints. So what’s the deal with the pizza? First thing you notice is that if you get it by the slice, they’re wide slices and *cheesy*. It’s cheese heavy to the point one of the two slices cheese stuck to the corner of the box. I honestly think that’s why people here like this place. Crust was medium well done. Thin not flop but enough to support the cheese on top with a chewy. It’s not light or airy and had only a moderate char. Sauce is light and tangy. This is place is very neighborhood involved. Even though it’s not in the downtown, it’s always got people eating inside like it *is* and ordering flying out the door all day. I feel like this is the crowd pleasers pizza, in that any New Yorker would like it. It’s great for a party. Though it’s not certainly not Italian or even Italian-American New York style pizza connoisseurs top kind of pizza. And that’s not a diss. Having them within a week or two of each other, this is similar to Forno’s across town. Definitely one of the better places in town. Though I can’t see any place in Peekskill deserving that much renowned out of town in the big world of pizza out there.

Good crust but not sure if it’s the sauce or cheese that gives it a certain funk. Just didn’t hit right.

I know you can’t change the score after the first rating, but i’m a rookie. Changing my score to 6.9.

Perfect football pizza. Nicely seasoned. I asked for it well done and they charred it up nicely, very good.

Huge flop. A little oily. Very cheesy, good quality Mozzarella. This could be a 7.4 or higher, but the sauce has strong herb & spice flavor. Excellent dough recipe. Classic house party slice.
