Nothing fancy here, just a run-of-the-mill, dime-a-dozen traditionally standard football pizza. The dough is thinnish with decent crisp, average taste, basic texture and a pleasantly crunchy crust. The cheese is tight, boringly generic and salty from harboring a fair amount of oil. The sauce is pretty good, somewhat sweet but also very salty from the excess grease that gives the pie an orange tinge and subdues the sweetness of the sauce. A better quality cheese might help limit the overflow of oil and allow more of the flavor of the sauce to punch through. As it stands, this is not a bad neighborhood pie; but you could definitely find better in the area. I debated between a 6.9 and 7.1 but I was feeling generous and confident that a less greasy pie would score higher; but I wouldn’t blame anyone if they thought this pizza belonged in the 6s.
