Outpost Pizza - Stamford

The ratings for this pizza are all over the map, ranging from way too high to absurdly low. Not sure why such a fairly generic pie has so many polarizing scores. It actually has good all around crisp, very firm, tasty dough. The crust is terrific, solid crunch, easily the best part of the pie. Despite having a nice melty flow, the cheese is a bit too thick which is producing a ton of oil. Highly recommend dabbing down each slice with a paper towel unless you like drinking grease. Aside from a decent hint of garlic, the sauce doesn’t really stand out, maybe a little better than average. Nothing about this pie is terrible except for an abundance of grease but I see potential for a fair amount of improvement. Middle of the road pizza overall, but you could do much worse in Stamford.
