Palermo's Italian Restaurant

Ok, so I feel like I need a way to preface this app with the fact that I’ve already eaten a TON of pizza all over the country prior to knowing about this app so I feel I have a pretty good level of experience in grading pizza. Especially being from the Midwest and especially close to Chicago. Reviewers have this place at an 8 which I feel is a respectable review. Many of the comments made on other sites list this location as one of the best on the south side but I can’t say I agree with that. I ordered the original thin crust with sausage and Italian beef. Pizza is tavern cut. Overall rating here for me is simple: Crust = Excellent crunch/crisp. Held up very well all the way to the middle. Sauce = Tasty but a little too sweet for my personal liking. Didn’t stop me from eating it though. Still very good but tasted like it would double as the pasta sauce as well. Cheese = Standard mozzarella. Toppings = Had to do the sausage based on other reviews and wasn’t disappointed. Tasted fresh and very good. I don’t particularly choose chunk sausage as I like mine ground but I’m not basing the review on that. The Italian beef addition is just one of my things. All in all it was a solid slice. I would eat it any day of the week. The other takeaway is excellent service in an otherwise classic, old school Italian restaurant setting. And that, equals my review.
