Pizza Review
Ok Frankie we are at Pane Fresco (pizza review time May 22nd 10:50am)... earliest pizza review ever -> unique times call for unique locations and this is our first review of a pizza place in a supermarket called Fortinos... it’s right away in a league of its own and read no more first glance this pizza is a 7 out of 10 -> excited -> it’s our first Roman Pizza review and this recipe is Inspired by a bakery in Rome and this style of dough takes over 24 hours to rise and yes it is hand-stretched and shaped by their baker —> at this Place you order in person from (up to 24 hours) in advance and pick up your pizza at any of the 20 locations offering pizza ... Fortinos pizza place called Pane Fresco Started As a Small Artisanal Bakery by Chef Marc Albanese and Pane Fresco means ‘fresh bread’ and their whole concept revolves around that. Marc Albanese, Pane Fresco, founder and visionary. Chefs Marc Albanese and Steve Rooney are behind Pane Fresco that is food that recognizes the needs, time, and habits of today’s shoppers, food lovers, and families. Italian traditions meet contemporary flavours in real food, lovingly prepared by Fortinos’ chefs and bakers. Hot and ready to eat, or packaged to take home, they offer fresh food to fit your busy lifestyle. That’s why their motto is “Eating Well Made Easy”It all Started with Bread .... In 2003, Chef Marc Albanese founded Pane Fresco, an artisanal bakery in Burlington, with rustic breads and Roman-style pizzas based on classic Italian recipes. In 2011, Chef Albanese teamed up with Fortinos to bring his winning formula to Fortinos Appleby Line. Pane Fresco has currently expanded to 20 Fortinos locations, serving the GTHA. Eating Well Made Easy! Pane Fresco has grown to become a vibrant food hall within Fortinos. Albanese’s artisanal bread and Roman-style pizza are front and centre. The Carvery serves fresh whole roasts, carved to order, baked homestyle pasta, Italian-style vegetables, and appetizers. Signature soups and salads, sandwiches like no other, and sushi are all on the menu. Everything is made fresh daily, hot, and ready to eat in or take out. With Pane Fresco, eating well really is made easy! And you can tell it all started with a superior bread recipe - it’s not some yeast driven dough ... it’s fresh and has a crisco type feel to the pizza -> one bite everyone knows the rules -> it gives off as cheesy bread vide and almost reminds you off a deep dish —> better than Pizza Hut type vibe-> Tomato sauce was bland yes but the mozzarella cheese was fresh and the undercarriage had minimal char on this Plain cheese pie -> we only judge the cheese pie as everything can be judged by the cheese pizza and at first feel it did have a mild flop ... ( some would call it ‘sauce from a can’ Frankie - We wouldn’t - some would - We wouldn’t)... the reality is if you have Italian friends with wood ovens in their yards who invite you over for homemade pizza it’s not going to be the greatest but it’ll be authentic-> little greasy maybe? but authentic and as soon as we tasted our first bite we knew it was an authentic Italian recipe -> regardless if it’s part of a chain ... have you ever asked yourself why there is a chain ? it’s starts with a business model you can build something off and this dough recipe is the money... that’s a lesson in business kids and now back to the pizza review ... we have reviewed many places in the GTA and Pane Fresco is a cross between Pizza Hut and “That italian place” in Brampton, and though ‘That Italian place’ isn’t Roman Pizza ... it has that vibe—> and just in Brampton to date we have reviewed : Gusto pizzeria 7.1 City south 3.4 Mackay 6.1 Pomodoro 6.2 Grabba Pizza 3.2 Tony and Jim’s 5.1 RICs Pizza 0.5 Tonino’s 7.7 Za pizza 7.2 Pizza Fiamma 1.7 Joes pizzeria 6.9 Molisana 7.8 J. Red&CO 5.3 Pizza Hut 5.2 Dominos 4.3 Fanzorellis 7.2 SAN Fransisco 6.3 Popular Pizza 3.1 Pizzanini 5.1 RICs Pizza 0.5 Pizza Pizza 2.9 Pizza Depot 4.2 Venezia Pizza 5.7 Pizza nova 0.7 AND That italian place 8.1 the best in Brampton!!!! .... so as you can see Frankie ——-> being compared to That italian place in Brampton is rarefied air .... one bite / everyone knows the rules / bite it / score it -> did we mention We waited for the first pie of the day and basically had to eat pizza for breakfast to do this review but it was fresh and hot and screamed pizza perfection with its crisco edge with the perfect crunchy crust ... ~> all wrapped into one ! 6.7 (professional score) Pizza @ Pane Fresco is highly recommend... so good ... in a world where a 8 out of 10 ... is a 10 ... then is a 7... but that is a rookie score... so it becomes a 6.9... but that’s a sexual number.... and this is a kids show ... so it automatically defaults to a 6.8 ...and is it better than the other 6.8 pizzas that we have reviewed recently? No... not really -> so it’s NOT a 6.8.... but like we already stated this pie is definitely in a league of its own BUT because it is in a supermarket —> and rightfully so-> it should lose a point for that!!! In one hand we don’t want to hold that against them—> but—> it’s a chain and we mainly review independents but feel we need to review the block chain pizzas once in a while for a good comparable and therefore we can state the perfect score for the pie at Pane Fresco is “6.7”....... that’s a review! It’s very good. We will be back. ✔️
