Thin crust pizza is not thin crust... sauce is good crust is meh. Had much higher hopes...

Papa dels is a staple of Champaign, offering customers their take on Chicago style pizza. If you are ever in Champaign and you don’t stop at papa dels you are sinning against Brad Underwood. This may be due to the size of pizza we ordered but I found the sauce slipping off leaving me with a pizza made entirely of just cheese and crust. The crust is a little too sweet and doughy for my taste and because it was Chicago style there was a lot of it. I ordered giardiniera and garlic which is one of my favorite types of deep dish. It was not a hit out of the park for me since the giardiniera didn’t offer as much zing as I was hoping for and there was only a small hint of garlic but it was very good and filling and that is why I gave it a 7.5. Stay hungry my friends.

Sauce and cheese are so good. We got the pan to do Chicago style. Excellent crunch on crust.

Overall really solid, good tasting pizza. I especially enjoyed the bright tasting red sauce and herb flavor of it. The crust is very thick and bready which might be enjoyable for some people but it was a little too much for me.

Very good deep dish crust; I like the Papa Del’s crust better than Lou Malnati’s and Giordano’s regular crust. Not a fan of the sauce though. The pizza didn’t have enough cheese for deep dish either; not proportional to the amount of tomato sauce or crust. Probably would be better if ordered with extra cheese. The bit of cheese on the pizza is solid and has a nice amount of pull.

Not bad, the flavor and crust reminded me of Rosatti’s. Overall would have again, if I was in the Champaign area.

Had the flat version, no deep dish, was very Greesey, was told the best in town, if so, bad look for uiuc

Really enjoyed the cheese on our veggie pizza - olives, artichokes, spinach and mushroom. Good thin crust, chewy and cheesy, have napkins on hand because it gets really messy. Deep dish is good, really thick crust.

Best Chicago style deep dish outside of Chicago that I’ve ever had personally. Crust, sauce, cheese...all on point.

If I was told i only had 1 day to live this pizza would be my last meal. The best tasting cheese and sauce I’ve ever had. Very thick but it’s soft and melts in your mouth unlike places like Gino’s and Lou malnatis that use the cornmeal crust that is hard as a rock
