Papa Del's Pizza Factory

Had the thin crust with sausage, pepperoni, onions, and mushrooms. Ingredients were fresh and good. The sausage was phenomenal. The crust was funky. Crisp, but somehow doughy. A very solid pizza. Would be way higher if I liked the crust better.

It may have been better if I got the cheese/sausage I ordered, but got just cheese and didn’t want to wait another45 minutes. The crust wasn’t as thin and crispy as I would have liked. The sauce was good though.

Thin crust Really good pizza. Had it to go so had to reheat it when it got home or else probably be higher. Perfect amount of sauce per slice crust had some crunch on the edges but soft in the middle.

For outside of the Chicago area this is a very good pizza. The sauce was a little too sweet for my liking but the sausage is outstanding! If in Champaign I would stop again.

Chi za style isn’t my favorite, but this place does it as good as it can get. Crust tastes like a biscuit and has a way of not feeling so heavy. Must stop if I’m in Champaign.

Papa dels is a staple of Champaign, offering customers their take on Chicago style pizza. If you are ever in Champaign and you don’t stop at papa dels you are sinning against Brad Underwood. This may be due to the size of pizza we ordered but I found the sauce slipping off leaving me with a pizza made entirely of just cheese and crust. The crust is a little too sweet and doughy for my taste and because it was Chicago style there was a lot of it. I ordered giardiniera and garlic which is one of my favorite types of deep dish. It was not a hit out of the park for me since the giardiniera didn’t offer as much zing as I was hoping for and there was only a small hint of garlic but it was very good and filling and that is why I gave it a 7.5. Stay hungry my friends.

Best pan pizza i have had. Sausage is fire.

Sauce and cheese are so good. We got the pan to do Chicago style. Excellent crunch on crust.

Overall really solid, good tasting pizza. I especially enjoyed the bright tasting red sauce and herb flavor of it. The crust is very thick and bready which might be enjoyable for some people but it was a little too much for me.

Deep dish is fantastic.

One of the elites of the stuffed pizza world. Had it shipped and till held up.

Very good deep dish crust; I like the Papa Del’s crust better than Lou Malnati’s and Giordano’s regular crust. Not a fan of the sauce though. The pizza didn’t have enough cheese for deep dish either; not proportional to the amount of tomato sauce or crust. Probably would be better if ordered with extra cheese. The bit of cheese on the pizza is solid and has a nice amount of pull.
