Pizza Review
Got the thin crust pizza. Way better than I expected. I was impressed with the very minimal flop as well as the crust. What could use improvement was the sauce and cheese but it’s what you’d expect from a place like this. Solid drunk pizza.
Pizza Review
So this happened... Papa John’s called me out on Twitter a few months ago. Guess what Papa John’s? You had time to get your s*** together and now BuffaloPizzaGuy is here. As a kid, I remember Papa John’s in Syracuse. I’m sure all kids like pizza good and bad but I distinctly remember it having a New York City vibe to it and the pizza was good. Many years later and I’m back. There is only 1 Papa John’s in the Buffalo area as the other locations have closed (stiff competition has that effect). Okay, if you haven’t looked at the picture, why is there a peperoncino next to my pizza!?!? I’m not eating it. I like them with my salad but this is crazy! The guy also threw in this garlic butter sauce which was a surprise as it wasn’t ordered. Trust me, you’ll need the garlic butter sauce for the pizza. I ordered a small cheese. It was originally $9+ for this but with a quick online search, I found a code that brought it down to $6+. This is a $5 pizza all day and even at that price, it’s high. The dough is odd, as the crust is light, airy and crispy. The bottom looks crispy but ends up being soft and that’s with me ordering a “well done” pie. The sauce is as basic and uninspired as you can get. The cheese is actually okay, it makes up for the lack of flavor from the sauce. As mentioned in the Tweet, Little Caesar’s is a better value. This reminds me of a frozen pizza with fresh cheese. Papa John’s needs an overhaul.
