Pizza Review
I came here directly after eating at Delorenzo's so that I could directly compare them and determine the true king of the tomato pies! While both are absolutely fantastic and definitely deserve their spot amongst the most famous and highly regarded pizza places in the United States I have to give the slight edge to delorenzo's. Papa's has a more typical crust than delorenzo's and has more chew. It had very little flop yet lacked the crunch I was hoping for given that that is what they seem to be known for. I was surprised by this as I actually ordered my pizza well done as the pie at the table beside us didn't look to be cooked enough for my liking. Another 2 minutes in the oven and I probably would have gone in the 9's, but I must review what I was given. Very cool old school feel inside with black and white photographs of the original owner's family, and multiple signs mentioning their over 100-year history. If you are a pizza fanatic like I am then you owe it to yourself to make it trip to robbinsville to try these two legendary spots!
