Papa's Tomato Pies

Steaming hot, Trenton-style pies. Ordered the large Plain, which is $17 (9/26). Crust is thin, crispy and light without much chew. Which made it easy to finish by myself (I'm a big eater). Sauce is tasty, but a little plain. Helped greatly by a dusting of granulated garlic, which is on every table. Light on the mozzarella. Cools off quickly, possibly due to the dollops of tomatoes on top. Great service; old school pizza parlor interior. 100% would come again!

Always solid crust and flavor. I like their pepperoni. Has a little zing to it.

A fantastic pizza. Straight tomato flavor more than pizza sauce flavor. Perfect thickness but the undercarriage is a super crispy cracker compared to the top of the dough- so, it’s really got no chew. It’s fluffy, thin, light over a too-hard base. That might just be my preference but the contrast didn’t work seamlessly IMO. Overall yummy and perfect sauce to cheese ratio. The kind of pie you can enjoy 1-2 more slices than you usually would. I had a chance at one stop in Jersey and I was glad I chose this spot but I wouldn’t drive to Jersey just to have it.

Very good pie, not knock my face off like I was expecting but definitely good.

Pizza was great The service had to be some of the worst service I’ve ever had going out to eat. Had to refill my own water they never gave us plates. They were rude to us. The entire time never felt welcomed once.

oh my god it is structured amazing but the flavors kinda basic

Very floppy and not crispy enough. Think it came out of oven too quick. Really good taste though.

Nice base and crust. Good salty mozzarella cheese flavor followed by a fresh tomato punch with gentle sweetness and a hint of herbs.

Great thin pie with a solid undercarriage and crispy crust

This ain’t a 9. Not even close to an 8 for me. People who know me know I’m a tough scorer so a 7.4 is a really good pie. Sauce is very good but the crust is basic bottom line Jersey. More chew than crisp. Undercarriage was good just no crisp again.

Simply spectacular.

Absolutely incredible. The pinnacle of a tomato pie. Tart and addicting, the crust almost tastes like a buttered cracker? With a hint of char. Never had anything quite like it. Awesome hometown vibes inside as well, BYOB and vintage Tiffany lights.
