PaPPo's Pizzeria South Springfield

I’d describe this slice as in the same realm of the Dominos to Papa John’s Range. Even with correct holding form, the pizza has significant flop. The sauce isn’t great neither is the mozzarella. It’s not horrible. Just not great.

Very typical of other chain type pizzas like Dominos. Very greasy Not great. Not horrendous. Didn’t judge based on service but it was very poor as well.

Overall, good flavor and crust has a nice bite. Would go with less toppings next time.

The pie was great, had no flop, and the sauce is so hearty and zesty, but simple and delicious.

This is the regular cheese (gold standard), not the 5 cheese. Thin crust was very crispy. Squares aren't my preference but this was very good anyway.

I asked for it thin and i am glad i did. I saw pictures of the hand tossed and it looked like a doughy sloppy mess! For pizza i got only cause it was right next to my hotel during my travels, not too shabby

PaPPo’s Pizzeria. Very doughy, ordered regular cheese with house crust (hand tossed). Very floppy, very saucy, but the sauce is a lil bland so it’s not overwhelming. Best part about the pizza is the crust. Not bad, just not good. Still searching for Springfield’s finest.

Pepperoni 5 cheese. It was light and flaky, decent crust and very little flop. Cheesy and a nice meaty sauce. The pepperoni leaves something to be desired as there’s not much kick to it. Overall not a bad pizza. It goes great with some beer. Atmosphere is great.

Crust was fantastic. Got the Sicilian on hand tossed. Sauce and toppings were perfect. Will be back to try more.

Buffalo wing pizza is always good. The crust is really what seperates this pizza place from others.

Alright, Springfield. First off, the 2.8 rating is a joke and an inside job. This pizza is handcrafted and I don’t believe can be summed up in one or two inadequate words. This place is amazing. I ordered the gold standard, cheese pizza. The pie was perfectly cooked with the under carriage dough crunchy as can be and hot and melty sauce and cheeses. Plenty of zip in the sauce and perfectly balanced. This vote isn’t a 9.3 for the world but a 9.3 for the town of Springfield. I recommend Big Slice for New York style pizza but for any and all other types, it HAS to be Pappo’s. Downtown or South locations, there’s no competition.
