It’s either hit or miss with Chicago pizza, and this was a HIT! Amazingly fresh cheese and sauce, my only complaint was the crust - a little too dry for my liking.

Right up there with New York for one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had!! I think by the point Dave tried this, he already ate too much pizza that day, making his score on the lower end. Got the thin crust over the pan pizza. Was still almost an hour wait after midnight! Great sauce too!

Trash. Over cooked, burnt but some how the under carriage wasn’t cooked and floppy. And had a weird tastes

Had both the cheese thin crust and deep dish....largely preferred the deep dish. The sauce and the burnt crust is the tits!!!! One of the best in the city!!

The tavern thin is top 5 in the nation. Deep would be about a 7.1 I said it.

If you like deep dish this is one of the best. Great caramelization on the crust, good amount of sauce and not too much cheese.

Deep dish is not my favorite but this is the best deep dish so it gets a bump to nudge out those other imposters.

Typically a pequod’s fan but this one was just down right embarrassingly undercooked. The dough is so mushy the middle pieces can’t be picked up. Going to be recooking for a solid 10 minutes at 500f before trying more of it

I’m a lover of UNOs and Lous and Gino’s downtown and I never believed that Pequods could beat it. It does. The carmelized crust. Fresh ingredients. Oh my god this is the best. The BEST.

Frozen and reheated. It’s about 85% of what it tastes like fresh out of the oven. Still an 8.5

Throwback Pizza Review, October 23rd 2019 Pepperoni pizza while at Pequad's while visiting Chicago. As as native New Yorker, I had big doubts going in but had to get a first hand experience to find out what all the noise was about coming out of Chicago. My friend Jane is a local and brought me here as its one of the most famous pizzas in the city. I'd prefer a standard cheese pizza and don't ever get toppings when reviewing, but this was with friends and before a precident was set. Regarding the verdict, it was better than I expected coming into town. I'm a sauce guy more than a cheese lover and while this had a lions share of mozzarella, it was fairly balanced with a good amount of tangy sauce and a crispy, buttery undercarriage. The pepperoni had a good level of cook, it was a long wait with growing anticipation. The pizza is so hearty you can only eat a slice or two before having to throw in the towel. Not proud to ever do it but I ate it with a knife and fork due to the heat from the pan, impatience and the cake-like texture of the slice. Overall an enjoyable experience that forced me to drop my preconceived hate and admit Chicago pizza ain't so bad. I still wouldn't wanna move to the city, East Coast reigns.

The crust might seem burnt, but it’s quite buttery and provides a lot of crisp. Sauce has a distinct flavor. It’s quite delicious and worth a trip if you’re in Chicago.

Great taste. Perfect amount of cheese and sauce, but needs to be crispier.

First Chicago style deep dish ever for me. More dough than I expected but it’s great dough/crust and the carmelized ends of the crust live up to the hype. Very cool spot
