Pete & Elda's Bar / Carmen's Pizzeria

I know there’s a lot of people out there who think this is an 8+ pie; but I can barely justify going over 7 for this. I love bar pies and this is a rather unique one, but it’s not nearly as good as the hype surrounding it. I love that it’s super thin, very light, just like a bar pie should be...but this dough is on par with a matzah cracker. There’s a difference between crispy and crunchy. The cheese is similar to the kind you’d find on frozen pizza, but actually doesn’t taste terrible. The sauce is average at best and not much to go around since it’s such a thin pie. I got this pizza to go; maybe I’ll have to try eating it there once we can dine out again. If it tastes better on-site, I will re-score but for now this sits at a very generous and somewhat disappointing 7.1
