Pete's Pizza & Bakehouse

Pizza wise this place is a 6.8. The crust is brittle (Digiorno Quality) maybe even a little stale. Sauce is meh, but the cheese and tomatoes on the margarita slice are fantastic. And look, I get it. This is a pizza app with pizza reviews. But this place is the definition of that mildly hipster, urban pizza joint that you’ve always wanted to start. Great low key spot for that after class heated slice. The chef’s specialty chili here is unreal (9.1/10). But what makes this place is the friendly staff and its overall radiance that you feel when you walk inside. The subtle red Pete’s sign is tucked away in a relatively quiet neighborhood of Chicago. Imagine your classic hometown local coffee shop for a sec. Now imagine that they sell Pizza and Chili. That’s Pete’s. 8.2.
