Pietro's Cucina Italiana

Really wanted to score higher. Came here based off of a review from another user saying it was one of the best margarita pizzas that ever had can't say I agree crust tasted almost like frozen pizza. Unfortunately just okay not bad all pizzas good but I wouldn't drive very far to get. That being said the restaurant was awesome and the other food we got was great and the staff was just amazing so overall it's a great little spot just the pizza is not as good as i hoped.

Im guessing Pietro’s has no reviews up until this point because it’s a literal hole in the wall italian restaurant, but WOW. (Ask for the Margarita Pizza well done with light olive oil) Im a San Diego native who loves great pizza and i have always thought Bronx, Lefty’s, Filippis and the recently closed down mom and pop shop San Filippos in downtown La Mesa were the best pizza spots in San Diego, but man was i wrong. Since i discovered this place a couple years back, Pietro’s is by far my favorite! I gladly drive 20 minutes from my place to get their pizza at least twice a month and everyone i have ever referred to them has told me that their pizza is their new favorite. It is thin pizza with an amazing light sauce and a great crust! Right up Portnoy’s alley. I believe they have been around for over 20 years maybe a bit longer, but it’s obvious why these guys made it through the pandemic! Always super nice people every time as well. Very classy place. Definitely deserves a 9!
