El Pres has inspired me to rate cheese pizza. All my life I've been a guy that eats his pizza with just about anything on it (and extremely rarely just cheese), but now I'm inspired to enjoy pizza in it's minimalist form. My first attempt (first rating) was a miss-step, but Pizza Garden fulfilled my need for a basic, hot out of the oven, cheese pizza.
The whole pie looked good sitting in the box. Pizza Garden does claim to be "Authentic Neapolitan Pizza," but 6.8 does not reflect my first impression, even before the first bite. Breaking out the first slice still smoking hot, the fold presented no flop, but potentially a bit greasy. Burned my mouth like a Dave on the first bite. Not super crispy, but I'm not looking for cracker crisp either. Maybe overall not as "light" as I might like, but pretty delicious.
I've had good pizza here in the past and this met my expectation today so I'm going 7.7, solid.
