Pizza Review
Spicy enough, cheese was good, but I should have ordered it well done. After an additional 7 minutes in my oven at 450 degrees the crust was just right. The way I ordered it I would say a 6.9 was appropriate. With the extra crunch it would have easily made it into the 7’s. Pizza King and Giovanni’s are still the only pizza places you should go to in Hornell for your pizza needs.
Pizza Review
This isn’t your normal review Frankie. Its a Secret Pizza Double Whammy Wowie Zowie. What we have here is a review of a little place called Pizza King of Hornell (top picture), and also a review for a pizzeria that has not been placed on this “One Bite” app, Giovanni’s (bottom picture), which is also located in Hornell. Lets start with Pizza King. This is definitely a New York City style pie. Thin, crispy crust, the texture of the dough reminds me a lot of the slices i get at work in NYC/Long Island. The cheese was good, but the sauce was too tangy, a little thick for my liking too. I wish theyd thin it out a little and put a pinch of sugar in it to combat that tang and smooth it out. If this slice was in NYC i’d rate it a 6.9 or 7.1 which isn’t a bad score at all, but for Hornell, i’ll give it a 7.7. Now as for Giovanni’s. Why isn’t this place on the app? It isn’t new, it’s been around quite a long time, no reason for it to not be on the app. Anyway ,this pizza was totally different than Pizza King but not in a bad way. This dough is different than any other place i’ve had. Its very good, a little floppy but its heavy so i understand the flop. The dough is thicker, its really chewy! It sort of bounces back when you bite it like good italian bread. The sauce was much better than Pizza King’s too. The layer of delicious cheese was a bit on the thick side just like my wife. In all seriousness the cheese was great as was the pizza in general. I’d rate this place a 7.6 locally. Really enjoyed both places.
