Solid classic slice. I get why some people say it’s their favorite ever. I also get why some might say it’s nothing special because it’s just so classic I barely stands out. From what I read I expected them to be really surly but they were nice. Easy access to GSP. Grab some zeppoles for the ride.

This Is a good well known slice (prob not pie) spot. The pizza did explode into several pieces like a taco when I ate it so be aware for that. To me this is the Rutt’s Hutt of slice places, which is why I don’t understand many of the reviews that the owners are not friendly. I definitely was not expecting a young blonde haired hipster to serve me and give me a kiss on the cheek with rose pedals on my slice. Yes, the owners are raspy ac/dc type folk but comes with the territory - a territory apparently open since 1958 and know their stuff. People are not going to renew vows here - just a quick and dirty slice off the Parkway and chow for the lot lizards of North Jersey. Enjoy!

Got a half plain for official scoring purposes and half sausage, peppers and pepperoni to keep it interesting

Good old school ,only ordered a slice so it was reheated and still served cold. A fresh while pie probably would score higher

A good slice of pizza. Well done undercarriage with no flop. A crust that has a very solid crunch to it. Little heavier on the cheese than the sauce, but I think that is a jersey thing. Good slice, but not a destination slice.

Got some slices straight out of a fresh pie. It was a Thin pizza, u could taste the sauce more than the cheese, good overall if ur in the area.

For an iconic spot, steeped in tradition, this is a somewhat traditional pie, but certainly not an iconic pizza. Extremely light on the cheese, which I don’t mind, but this is closer to a red pie than your standard cheese pizza. Fairly thin and super light due to the lack of cheese, the sauce is the star. Deliciously sweet and unique, the sauce carries this entire pie. The only drawback is heavy amounts of oregano mixed in, dulls the sweetness a bit. The dough is not as crispy as I expected; it’s actually pretty soft and not nearly as tasty as the sauce. Decent crust, easily the crispiest part of the pie, but not particularly flavorful. The cheese is tough to rate because there’s so little to go around, but it’s fairly basic. Overall, this is a very solid pie but nothing special by any means. The old school feel and nostalgia makes it a destination spot to visit, but don’t expect the pizza to knock your socks off.

One of the top spots around had to do another review for this spot because my last one don’t do it justice

I wasn’t particularly a big fan of the crust - it has a distinct flavor. But still a solid slice. Very old school layout. Highly recommend trying their Zeppolis.

Overall, this was a great pizza. The bottom was cooked perfectly, not too crunchy and not too floppy. They put a perfect amount of sauce and it was very tasty! They use a lot of oregano, which I enjoyed. Overall, definitely a 8.2.

It’s like the definition of a pie in between the typical “football”. pie and “barstool pie” which I like cause I don’t quite understand the bar pie craze....Great sauce, crisp crust, not enough mozzarella cheese but you could taste the other cheese mentioned ... overall I liked it ...7.4 first try but could go up next visit

Replace the staple in the area with the food and the pizza is just horrible been here twice I do not see how this got a 7.5 from Dave the place is cool it’s old-school the woman behind the counter is a character but the pizza is absolutely shit

Good pizza for the area but Dave must have been real hungry that day. $2.50 a slice, under carriage burnt and owner jammed 4 slices in a small box... also if you want a toppings you need to buy a whole pie
