Served moderately warm in 2-3 minutes with no Rt. 22 flop and a good Pawling crisp.
First Bite Score: 5.1
The sauce is middle of the road, it’s semi-chunky with good tang and seasoning. The mozzarella is decent with varied levels of salinity and below average chew. The dough is pretty good with a strong undercarriage finished with cornmeal.
Sub Score: 6.1
SAUCE: good starting point, needs to be a tad thinner
MOZZARELLA: fix the odd sporadic presence of salinity and purchase (or make/buy) fresh or higher quality cheese
DOUGH: not much wrong here
Summary: for $3.25 this should be much better all around. I had to subtract points for the amount of oil and add points because I could have finished the whole thing. With a few tweaks this could be in the high 6.0’s.
