Trying another one of Philly’s best, Pizzata specializes in sourdough New York style round pies and are incredibly fresh ingredient pizzas. The dough is naturally leavened and ferment way longer than the average leading to a light, airy and super crispy crust with a unique flavor. The top of the pie doesn’t do the justice of how well done it is as the charring and leoparding underneath is off the charts. This type of dough needs a greater sauce and cheese ratio and trust me it has it. The sauce is rich and sweet, very fresh tasting and some chunks as well which I love. The cheese is superb, I didn’t see anything about grande mozz here but it has that same funk to it, loaded with flavor and it’s complimented with fresh basil and a shaved parm that really sets the pie off. Sucks that it took me this much time to come but so happy I did, for sure this is one of Philly’s best spots to hit!!!
