Pizza Review
Once hailed as the “Best Pizza in the World”. Eh. I mean it’s good; it’s a far stretch from the best. Light and crispy crust. Sauce is flavorful but lacking in quantity. I think the cheese is good but can’t be sure because there is so little of it. Like I said, good not great. And for the price definitely not great.

Established in 2013, there’s lots of hype surrounding this hip & trendy, cool hidden spot. They don’t pick up the phone, so you’ll have to email them to make a reservation; and for takeout it’s online orders only, keeping in line with Philly’s difficult pizza ordering processes. The first thing I noticed upon receiving my pie was how uniquely aromatic the smell was emanating from the pizza, an absolute olfactory sensation. Physically, the pie was light as a feather in the box; I expected it to be super thin. Surprisingly, it was more of a football looking pizza in its construction than a fancier pie, aside from the variation in the cheese blend. The dough was firm & crispy, solid undercarriage, terrifically tasty to go along with a crunchy crust. The cheese was easily the fanciest element of the pizza; a mixture of whole milk mozzarella and grana padano, the blend is the star of the pie in both smell and taste. The tomato sauce is very light; distinct but also understated, top notch quality but a tad paltry in quantity. While the dough and sauce are plenty tasty, they are both outshined by the outstanding cheese blend, truly the main event of all the ingredients. Overall, this is excellent pizza, definitely travel-worthy, matching the hype. If you plan on making the pilgrimage, book your reservation or submit your takeout order well in advance; the wait times tend to skyrocket as the day goes on. Like most of the other top pizzerias in Philadelphia, they don’t make it easy to get your hands on a pie; but the minimal hassle is certainly worth it.
