Alright Frankie, we’re here at Pizzicato PDX, at the Pearl District location. These guys are all over Portland but this place is still my favorite slice in town. I have to give it a review for the rest of you to know what your missing.
It’s got a trendy pizza vibe inside but you can tell these guys know what they are doing. Much like most places that do whole pies and slices, the slice seems like a different pizza altogether. Not in a bad way, just like a completely different pizza. One bit everybody knows the rules... After inhaling the cheese slice, I was left with a couple pepperoni slices because I couldn’t wait to take the picture. But they are so great over there, they gave me a slice of cheese to take home for the review.
Alright here’s my review, one bite everybody knows the rules... not too strong on the cheese, good tang to the sauce, but I will have to admit this one is a little light on the sauce this time... Some slices will give you a good NY flop, but the crust is always perfect and crispy. They have big Italian ovens with like 6 drawers and a smaller crust with just the right amount of dough & brown. If I was grading the slice, I’d give it an 8.7 because it will always be my favorite slice in Portland.
