Prima Pizza Cucina

Taking a saunter up to New Smyrna for the day, and after consulting with the One Bite app, we came to Prima. A small shop that is worth a wait. Only 5 tables and a slew of seats around a bar, but a very cool vibe and friendly people. Garlic knots are a religious experience, butter, garlic, and the marinara sauce is amazing. We had a salad, lemon vinaigrette, pretty good start. Pizza… we had cheese, this I would have rated high sevens, and the White Pie was higher than that, maybe touched an 8. The 8.1 comes from the overall visit, this is a great find. El Prez says if it’s over 8 you should drive to it, message here is just that… not to mention a great stroll for a nice day. That’s the review.

Pizza number two in Florida had extremely fresh ingredients with a well-cooked undercarriage. Great date night spot with amazing atmosphere.

Really nice texture with the crust and overall solid pie. It’s beach pizza. You can taste the ocean in each slice as salt is the initial and dominant flavor profile. Strong cheese. Weak sauce.

Ok looks we’re fantastic, If we were going just off of appearance it would have been a 9. The char was great the cheese was great but the sauce was a little bland and the dough was tough. Now I might have went in with to high of expectations and that may have effected the score. Will try it again to see if it was a off night for me or them. Still a good pie.

Solid looking New York style pie that was cooked perfectly but def not a NY pizza. There was a little too much flop with a weak sauce but the cheese and crust were on point. An overall good pizza.

Date pizza. Really good but not great. I think Cafe Heavenly and Third Wave are better.

Very solid pie, great taste. Can go toe to toe against most state’s best pie. Doesn’t quite break the 8s for me but is one of, if not the best pie I’ve had in FL.

Very good pizza. Some flop. Decent crispiness. Thin. Greasy. Slightly bready crust. Sauce is a little plain. But definitely worth trying.

Rookie Score, right? Wrong! I was at Johns on Bleecker and Lucali both within the last month. Let me tell you, Prima ranks right up with them. Dough is perfectly crisp, no flop! Best tang in a sauce I’ve had ever in Florida and so much fresh cheese to choke a vegan for life. I loved this place, best pizza in Florida by a freaking landslide. Don’t even get me started in the garlic knots. Oh, they even had Gluten Free pizza for my wife, of course, she loved it! Bravo, Prima!

Alright Frankie, this was quality pizza. Got vodka sauce, grilled chicken, spinach, mozzarella cheese, and caramelized onions. Very interesting way of cooking the pizza. They put the cheese and toppings on first, and then put it in the oven. Once the pizza is halfway done, they add the vodka sauce and then put it back in the oven. It was very crispy and full of flavor. Everything is made in house. Highly recommend.
