Professor Pizza Slice & Pie - West Town

My buddy Pat Tomasulo kept telling me g me that I needed to try Professor Pizza. I am usually pretty slow to take recommendations. My mistake. We had the Professor on WGN Morning News and I got a quick sample and I was hooked. He has what I think is the best cracker crust in the city. Amazing fresh flavors and perfect balance and textures. Sometimes it is hard to find a place where you can just grab a quick slice- the Grand Ave location is perfect for me. Love everything about this place. And the Professor is a good hearted dude too!!

Professor Pizza is the epitome of a service forward pizza joint. The hospitality is overwhelming, and the owner Tony is fully embedded in everything that the shop does. All the pizza’s are phenomenal, and I cannot recommend it enough.

I’ve probably tasted every pie Professor Pizza has offers, including some of the old “extra credit” pizza’s he did back in the day. That first bite always is a reminder than this is the best pizza I’ve ever tasted. The White Pie is definitely my personal fave in their NY style, but their grandma crust has the perfect crisp and and the tavern style is has the perfect Chicago crunch to it. Definitely different anything we have in the area, and the preferred choice 👌🏼

The new Professor Pizza Slice and Pie has a great atmosphere and even better pizza. Stopped in last night and enjoyed a slice of grandma style pepperoni. It was just as good as always. The sauce stands out, the flavors complimenting the fluffy grandma slice.

Tony aka Professor Pizza is the best in Chicago. I’ve tried the top his is the best!! Tony is a great guy and chef. He’s toured with Bert Kreisher Fully loaded tour feeding comedians. They’ve talked about him and he is amazing! Go see him!!

Amazing and fulfilling Roman style pizza. Light and fluffy crust with great-tasting toppings. The sauce was just ok but nothing was bad about this pie. The Professor is located in the Full Schilling Public House bar.
