Not your typical coal-fired pizza, this unique-looking, non-traditional grandma style pie is oval shaped and relatively thin, with out of this world char & crisp. The dough borders on the brink of being burnt but possesses fantastic smokey coal-fired flavor and the kind of crunch your dream about in a pizza. The cheese is rather tight and paper thin, a little too light to make a real impact on the overall flavor. Another handful of shredded mozzarella wouldn’t hurt. The sauce is also sparse, more neutral flavored than sweet, doesn’t really punch through, definitely needs more volume to truly shine. I’m not a fan of the shaved confetti-like strands of basil; either go full leaf or leave out entirely. The base of this pie is phenomenal in both texture and taste, with a firm, charred and crispy undercarriage; the rest of the ingredients are quality but lacking in quantity. This is a very good pie, not great; but there’s lots of potential to be so much better than it is in its current state. Add more cheese and sauce along with some whole leaves of fresh basil and we could be looking at mid-to-hi 8s. Nonetheless, this is solidly tasty pizza with plenty of room for improvement.

Awesome taste. Crust had way too much flop and soupy. But flavor was really good

One of the best pizzas I have ever had. LOVE! Did have a floppy crust but I don’t mind it. The service was quick and the pizza had a lot of cheese. Will get again!

Solid pie. Can’t ask for much more. Good crisp crust, nice undercarriage, only thing holding it back is it was a little dry

I hade this pizza a couple of years ago and scored it much higher....but it was so drastically different this time I had to revise my score....the dough is nicely charred and thin but a little chewy the sauce it fresh but a little bland and it's very light on the cheese ...honestly it was heartbreaking ...still its veer good

Good pizza, hands hurt during filming, should be reheated on the pan / grill rather than the microwave

Really good crust for a Neapolitan style pizza. Really good sauce, average cheese. Overall a very very good Pizza

A bit small for the price but with a fantastic crust. This is a pizza built to carry toppings. As a margherita it is a little plain, with a tangy sauce and herbs.

Super great roni’s, crust was chewy, could’ve been cooked a few minutes longer. Definitely a pizza you need to let rest a few minutes before digging in

Lots of leaf on the rocket. Coal fired is cool. Bit cold but might be because of the lettuce

I am an Alabama resident and don’t have the selection of pies that New England does so naturally I was stoked to try a Dave reviewed place. Given his score I immediately knew after my first bite I would be higher. This place was delicious. I would pay top dollar to try a Dave 8 or 9.

Good crust, sauce is like lava and the pepperoni def isn’t fresh. Next.
