R Place Pub and Pizza

Let’s start with the fact they NORMALLY cut this into square pieces! WTF? Next, look at all that cheese on an under cooked bread crust. I might say DiGiorno frozen might be better. As of this order….this place was rated 7.7? People of Iowa….EAT REAL PIZZA IN NYC then judge. This is NOT pizza above average…assuming a 5 is average. Major disappointment in the Ames, IA One Bite community. BELIEVE THIS REVIEW!

This is a thick crust. Overall for Iowa standards this is a pretty good pizza. Undercarriage had some slight signs of char but was still somewhat doey obviously due to it being thick crust. Cheese is the highlight for the pizza. Sauce is a little sweet but not to sweet. If nearby I would recommend

For lowa this is a solid 8 for me. It reminds me of tavern style back in Chicago. I live in Ames and have been for five years and this is the best pizza around and tried them all. If you are in for an lowa State game this would be the place for pizza about 8 minutes away from Ames depending where you are in town. Get the "thick dough" version I tried the thin and the thick version is better. the picture above is a picture of the thick version. Note that even the thick version is still thin. The thin version is not as good it does not hold the topping very well. The sausage is delicious the sauce and cheese are very good. *I'm using an lowa pizza rating scale

This got ranked in the top 5 for Iowa? This? It's good, but it's not worth traveling for. And you clearly have to travel for this pizza since it's in the middle of no where. Pep sausage on thick crust. Sauce is forgettable, crust is ok and distinguished, but was definitely undercooked and doughy after you pass the undercarriage. Cheese was the bright spot and is why this made it good....but again...not great. What are people thinking voting this in the same class with Pagliais, Wig & Pen, Zenos, & Zipps? Pizza places that blow this out of the water like Georgioz, Fuel, The OP, Centro, ect.. should all be pissed.

Build your own pizza. Tastes like homemade sauce with the perfect sweet and tangy combination. Thin crust is light and crispy. Great flavor from the oven.
