I’m really convinced that the state of NJ and Dave go together hand & hand because they both don’t know anything about good pizza. It’s so hard to get a decent slice in NJ. Living all my life in Brooklyn I’ve been spoiled. For a pizza lover moving to jersey is like committing suicide. I ordered 2 pies & the total was around $40 bucks for something that’s no different than frozen pizza. This is pizza is cheap bar food. Cardboard crust, generic cheese & can sauce. I’m giving up on this app, I understand that Dave is trying to help local businesses but if they’re pumping out trash then they deserve to go under.

#1 Starting my New Year’s resolution the right way with Ralph’s pizza in Nutley (564 Franklin Ave, Nutley, NJ 07110). They make a great bar style pie, light on the stomach, buttery crust. This pizza has minimal flop and it’s easy to see myself eating an entire pie by myself. I was so hungry I couldn’t take a pick of the full pie 😂 This is an 8.7 when it was luke warm. Gotta eat this thing out of the oven and it might change my life.

Wow! Super good pizza, buttery and thin. I can’t stop eating this pizza!

Dave you must of been hungry from the 45 minute ride. I agree with the other guy looks like a frozen pizza different flavor than a standard pizza I give it a 6.5

VERY GOOD! Sauce is on the sweeter side which i loved. The Marinara pizza is also very good. It had pieces of garlic on it which make it even better!

Dave, I don't know how this was a 8.9. The sauce is excellent. One of the best sauces I've had on pizza. Cheese was great too. The pizza looked well done but the bottom didn't have that pizza crunch, it was soft and felt like I was eating an elios pizza. I don't know what it was, the dough or how it was cooked but I was not a fan of that. Definitely great sauce and cheese but didn't have that crunch. Good pizza. 7.8 that's a review.

Went here specifically because Dave loved it so much. 8.9 is a HUGE score. Went out of my way to go here. Ordered a pizza at 5:19pm. Was told it will be ready in 25 mins. Got there at 5:50 and didn’t leave until 6:35. System is awful. Not sure if covid is to blame or anything and I don’t want to be too harsh. My pizza was very cold when I got it so I feel I did not get the full experience. All the people waiting outside with me were also very frustrated and said that it wasn’t the first time it happened. Hey, I’ll wait an hour for a pizza, that’s fine. But just let me know it’s gonna be an hour... maybe I’ll try around lunch time instead.

Another Portnoy blunder. The sauce was pretty good, crust was OK, and the cheese was lackluster. I preferred the thin over the regular but the dough recipe reminded me of a frozen pizza. Dave put this in the same league as Johnny's in Mount Vernon and they aren't even in the same stratosphere. Nice people but this might be his worst review to date.

2 cheese slices and a bottle of water, 3:20pm on a Monday, $7.18 Pros: Cooked well, nice well done flavor in the crust and cheese, the sauce is fantastic and there's a good amount of it. Very tangy and flavorful, I'd say it was the most memorable part. Cons: Slices are a bit small but the thickness gives them some substance Verdict: The sign out front boasts 75 years of business and this place holds an 8+ rating after hundreds of reviews, so the bar was set high for Ralph's. Very good, almost great couple of slices today. I came in during the 3 hour on a Monday, which would mean terrible, unfresh pizza almost anywhere. This was still good enough to be in the 8's during a terrible business hour, so I could see this possibly being even better at a busier time of day.

Kinda disappointed thought it would be better. Good for sure but not the best

A little doughy for a thin crust, still good flavor, not bad of a crisp
