Very good, bar pie. We wolfed that pie right down.

Solid bar pie only a little thicker than usual for that style. Makes it a bit unique. Real nice crunch, a little greasy but not bad. Good amount of cheese. Really enjoyed and recommend!

Not to be confused with Reservoir Tavern in Boonton, this is “Reservoir” in South Orange, which serves a medium bar pie style pizza instead of the traditional 16” style. The first thing that jumped out at me, and you can see it clearly in the picture…Woah, Greased Lightnin’! There is a swimming pool of oil drowning the ingredients of this pizza. Just a vat of grease completely engulfing the surface of the pie. I wasn’t sure if they dumped a can of tomato soup in a pizza dough bread bowl by accident. I tried to eat the slices that were the most dry first; and believe it or not, they were very good. While this pizza is the size of a bar pie in diameter, it’s definitely thicker and has looser cheese than most bar pies in which the cheese is super tight. I consider this to be more of a “Tavern style” pizza, which is a division of the bar pie category. The dough is very tasty with a firmish undercarriage, mostly soft overall, fantastically crispy and flavorful crust, rich & buttery, easily the star of the pizza. The sauce is slightly more bitter than sweet, tough to navigate due to the abundance of grease. Most of the cheese is completely submerged in oil, extremely loose, liquidy, sloppy & salty. You can either use 67 napkins to dab the grease or just let it congeal after it cools so it doesn’t drip down your chin with each bite. All of the ingredients are very good, particularly the outstanding crust; but the “reservoir” of greasy oil sinks the overall score. I would love to try a pie that wasn’t completely overwhelmed by oil; I believe it would score in the low-to-mid 8s. As it stands, 7.5 is an incredibly fair score considering the geyser; but this pizza is not worth breaking out in pimples or hardening your arteries over. Control the grease flow dramatically and we are probably talking about a travel pie.

Crust is the star of the show here, it was just really good...8.6 crust + 7.3 rest of ingredients on the slice avg out to a solid score just under 8

That eggplant though, knocked my socks off. Never go there for a pie but always end up leaving with one!!

Okay...I made the mistake of getting half pepperoni so it was a little sog in the middle but my goodness, this is hands down my new favorite bar pie in jersey. Their marinara sauce is the best I’ve had and I’m a marinara sauce snob! Perfect crust, and the flavor was just on point. Cash only and so cheap. Get here when you can! Ask for it well done. He was moody when he did this review hahah go back Dave and cheer up.

8 flat super close to giving this a 7.9 as the grease was just pouring all over this thing. Super flavourful tho keeping this in the travel pie range.

Very bland to me. Was expecting a lot better. Very greasy. Wasn’t bad but wouldn’t go out of my way at all for it

Tangy sauce, a nice bar pie. Crust could be a little crunchier but this is more than a pizzeria. This is a great restaurant for a nice night out. But we’re sticking to pizza strictly for this review, and Zeke says a solid 8.2.

Tonight I made the best mistake ever: Ordered a couple of pies from Rez Tav in Boonton. Went to pick the up and the place was closed?! Realized I had made my first ever order from that other Reservoir.... in South Orange! So headed there this amazing Bar Pie!

Mega old school bar pie tonight!! Like goin out for strange and wakin up a young Britney Spears mega minus the virgin mobile deal. Amazing taste and flavor. Cheese spectacular and cooked well done mixing with the sauce like I love. Some caramelized cheese from the pan on outer parts of the crust made me hear some Kiss in my head. Charry crispy but on the heavier side for a bar pie from the old school pans. I would come back over and over for this cash only gem. For all you haters saying it’s burnt get bent. This is how a bar pie should be.

I ordered the sausage pizza and it was very good. It initially came out a little bit runny in the middle and they threw it back in the oven to cook more and cooking it really saved this pizza and really showed it’s true potential. Crust was crispy and the sauce/cheese blended very well together. I will definitely be returning here.

It's good. I wouldn't go out of my way for this pizza. It was too doughy and cheesy. But overall, solid!
