Revello's Pizza Cafe

Old Forge pizza is in a league of its own. If you like this style (white cheese, pillowy dough, light cook), Revello’s is tough to beat.

This is a redo since last time was a supermarket par bake. The biggest name in old forge pizza and my intro to the style when I was a kid so it’ll always rank high. This time I did regular, x sauce, and x cheese. Based on looks alone I would pick regular but surprised to say it’s also best of the three. It’s perfectly balanced, the crust isn’t too thick dry or crusty like a lot of places, sauce has a little bite which compliments well, and of course the iconic cheese blend to top it off. It’s like crack I can probably eat like 8 in a sitting. The extra cheese is second best especially if you’re feeling cheesy. The extra sauce just has too much of a pepper/spice kick to do extra (overpowers). All still great though thanks to the quality of everything so depends on your mood. Always liked the meatball pizza too. May be the best square tray in the region.

Dined in- good when right out of the oven, fairly crispy, good sauce; however, cheese was falling off the pizza. Annoying to put a clump of American cheese back on a pizza to eat it. Overpriced these days.

The pizza I thought had promise but it was cold, not great on the cheese and sauce, crust was decent. Service was not good for eating in, maybe to go it would be better.

Flew into nepa for the holidays and pizza is the top priority. S/O Revello’s for being open on a Sunday to get my 1st fix. The White pizza is honestly a 8.9/10 but the red pizza is a 6.1 for me.

I love a good Detroit or Sicilian style pie. So I was excited to try old forge style. It was okay. Nothing to rave about. Could eat it and be satisfied but not my first choice. Dough/crust was okay, sauce was abundant but lacked real depth in flavor. Cheese tasted like it was slices of cheap white American cheese. Not at all what I expected.

I went to this place like 2 years ago. It tasted like school lunch pizza. We drove 30 mins out of our way to stop here. People who like this have not evolved to the final stage of human yet.

Tried the White pizza. Very different but good and light. Cheese was gooey and synthetic.

Good crust... little buttery thing going on

This review is for the white cut only. Fantastic! The traditional red is more than a point below.

Red pie, no toppings. Decent pie, loved the crust, crispy yet slightly bready on the inner portion of the tray. Sauce was above average and the cheese was average, melty and still kind of ‘creamy’ (not stringy) upon cooling off.

First bite of the slice was fair. I kind liked the distinct tomato flavor of the sauce. Unfortunately, every bite after that went down hill. The cheese is so low quality and gummy that it leaves a film of something on the roof of your mouth, and there was no crunch at all. Think worst microwaved, high school lunch, French bread pizza. Only reason it got this high of a score was the outside seating area was nice and live music good. Skip this spot! Waitress also had to be retrieved from her Snap Chat session in order to get our check.

Pizza is good, crust has a decent crunch to it. I think 7.8 is a fair score
