Riverview Restaurant & Tavern

Tonight the pizza bus ended up at Riverview Tavern and Restaurant in Algonquin. I went with the usual sausage pizza. The outside crust on this pizza was firm and had a good crunch to it. This pizza had a lot of sauce and it was a thick sauce. This sauce would be considered ultra sweet. I think that this sauce might be a big turn off for some people, but it didn't bother me. The pizza had asteroid size chunks of juicy Italian sausage with a nice fennel flavor. As you can see from my photos they put oregano and seasoning on top of the pizza. With the oregano and the ultra sweet sauce I never really got a taste of the cheese. The cheese was just overwhelmed. This pizza was better than what I was expecting and good for the area, but nothing that you would drive an hour for.
