😴SLEEPER SPOT ALERT😴 There is absolutely no hype surrounding this pizza; only 2 reviews on the App when I found it, so I had zero expectations going into this review. When I opened the box, I thought I was going to hate this pie; it was pale white, seemingly lacking in sauce and not particularly crispy. As the old saying goes, don’t judge a book by its cover. After one bite, I was completely surprised by the immense flavor pouring out of this pie. The dough was a little floppy, but kind of firm underneath, not soggy at all. Even though it’s not particularly crispy, it is very tasty, almost as if they used a decent amount of garlic powder in the dough, which I love. The sauce is extremely light, almost invisible but packed with outstanding flavor. Despite looking like a dry, white pizza, the sauce has an incredibly distinct taste, a little garlicky but plenty of other spices to really draw out tremendous flavor. The cheese is tight and also seasoned well, blends terrifically with the dough and sauce. The crust has a fair amount of crunch and the taste to match, saving the pie from the floppy dough. This was a totally pleasant surprise, something I’d call a “Shocker Pie,” having no expectations going in and coming away really liking the pizza. The somewhat generic ingredients are all elevated by the fantastic use of multiple spices. As much as I like this pie, it just misses the cut as a travel pizza; but this is as solid as neighborhood pies get, worth a 20-30 minute drive for sure.
