Roman Pizza

All right everybody! Pizza review time! It’s hard for me to find a new spot to review these days without driving 40 minutes or more after doing over 80 reviews, but I did it today. Roman Pizza on Rt. 2 in Latham. What a lucky find! This slice is the closest to what I would expect from a good pizza shop in Brooklyn. The have the sauce and cheese absolutely dialed! The pie came out as I waited, and there was another guy at a table waiting. I have a feeling he pulled the pizza out a little sooner than he wanted to because of that. Another minute or two in the oven and this could have been in the 8.0s. The way it is, just a touch pale on the crust, and a little floppy it gets a very, very respectable score of 7.8. I’ll be back, and I’ll do a redemption review and see if it gets to the 8.0s. I would still go out of my way to get pizza here, maybe not from 2 counties away, but if we’re anywhere near Latham I’d shoot down Rt. 2 towards Watervliet and some of this

Probably the biggest slice i’ve ever had, and just like breasts, the one was considerably larger than the other. The dough was ok, it had a little much residual flour on the bottom. Cheese was ok, sauce was almost non existant on the smaller slice (still a huge slice). The first slice had more crisp, the second one had some flop let me tell ya. Like a wer dish rag. The sauce i could actually get a taste of was just ok. The service was great though, wish i could give them a better score but thats not how this works Frankie.

Good sized slice. Sauce had some flavor. Very little grease. Crust was a little doughy. Rookie score

Good cheese. Good sauce. Too much grease and very floppy

Big football pizza. Not much flop, got a little grease on my pants, and pretty bland sauce. The crust was chewy, not very crispy at all. It was just... meh.

Big slice!

Little floppy, not crispy at all. Doughy crust, but thin. Sause and cheese or mild. Not much grease. This slice would be a good base for quality toppings, but doesn’t shine on it’s own.

The crust is the perfect thickness nice and crisp, it has a slight Latham flop. Very little to no grease, right amount of cheese. This style pizza is my kind of pizza.
