Roseland is it an old building that looks more like someone's home than an actual restaurant, and features photos of the owner's family dating back to the 1930s, so I was in love with this place before the pie even arrived at my table! The pizza itself was typical New Haven awesomeness, but had noticeably more cheese than the other local options. Incredible crunch in every bite and a good amount of char on the edge of the crust as well to compliment the sweet sauce. Roseland deserves its spot on the top 101 pizza places in the country back! Bar replaced it on this year's list, and is nowhere near Roseland's league!

No flop, good crisp, very good flavor & perfect amount of cheese to sauce ratio. Excellent pie.

I waited too long to write this review but I think Roseland Apizza is a champion. I was nervous going in that the bar of expectation may have been raised too high and this would disappoint. When I took the first bite I pondered for half a second if those fears were coming true but in blazing pizza glory those special flavors shined through. I don’t know who this Apizza tastes likes, it’s not any of the New Haven big 5 but it’s real close, but almost crossed with the sauce style of a Jersey pie. I can’t identify why it’s different or great but it is. I’ll visit here again

Decent pizza. My recommendation is not to go with an extra large. Very floppy and hard to pick up big slices. Pizza was okay overall…a little too greasy

Really good selection of mushroom and onions - a good amount of each. The cheese is nice and stringy, tangy sauce, nicely charred crust. Also go the tomato pie, this was simply perfect.

Top 3 as fat as i am concerned. Pizza is awesome and the sausage is to die for!

Sauce is amazing, but the oil hurts the flop and overall taste. Pretty close to a Wooster street pie without the oil

This is essentially New Haven style pizza on the outskirts of New Haven, very similar to Modern Apizza in taste & texture, maybe a notch below; but make no mistake about it, this pie can hold its own against the titans of New Haven pizza. Starting with the spectacularly crispy & crunchy dough, firm undercarriage with zero moisture, medium thickness with charcoal flavor and an exquisitely charred crust with out of this world crispness. The smell of this pizza is absolutely amazing from a combo of the cheese and well done crust. The cheese is outstanding, tight like a bar pie, somewhat rigid with a creamy whole milk mozzarella flavor, significantly better than standard pizza cheese. The only drawback is the amount of grease the cheese is harboring; definitely have to drip & dab to alleviate oil flow. The sauce is very good, more tomato based than a true pizza sauce, could definitely use a little more kick and spice, but it’s solid. Perhaps the abundance of oil is overtaking the true flavor of the sauce but it doesn’t totally drown it out; all the ingredients work together like magic to conjure up a deliciously delectable overall taste. Even with these little flaws, this is still phenomenal pizza. If they can find a way to minimize the grease flow and add some more pizzazz to the sauce, we’re looking at legendary status in the 9s. As it is, this pie is worth traveling for despite being located in The Valley (aka Middle of Nowhere) and it’s as close to New Haven’s elite pizza as it gets!

Light, perfect crust, cheese wasn’t too overbearing. Only thing lacking was a bit more from the sauce. Great slice

Crisp lives up to the hype! Good flavor on the dough and charred crust. Cheese was heavy and like others have said, greasy. IMO the cheese overpowered the sauce. I’m definitely a sauce guy. Overall a good pie.

This is the best pizza we have ever had. The crust was crispy all around. The sauce was perfect. It was a little greasy but the crust and the sauce won us over. If we didn’t live so far away we would be here every week.

Wow so good, better than I was expecting despite the grease and the flop still maintains crispy crust the sauce is super garlicky, if you don’t feel like waiting in the 2 1/2 hour lines at Sally’s or Pepes this is definitely worth a 20 minute drive really really good pizza
