Been a while folks but here we are with another pizza review. Here we have Rotolo’s Craft & Crust down on Ben Hur Rd in Baton Rouge. This pizza right out of the gate was underwhelming. When you walk in the place it has a very rustic feel to it and it smells amazing inside and yet - this pizza isn’t even particularly good. The crust is pure dough. The cheese is overshadowed by the sauce, which has quite a bit of tang to it. It’s not absolutely terrible, but it definitely isn’t good either.

Went here for their trivia night a few months ago and had an amazing pizza! Dave would for sure love this place.

Some of the better pizza I’ve had in Louisiana. Not much flop, great tasting crust, cheese, and red sauce.

Interesting first bite. The first thing you taste is sauce, which is usually a good thing but this sauce is a little sweet. It takes away from the flavor of the cheese and pepperoni, which also tells me the crust has no flavor. The outer edge of this crust is so charred that you can’t taste any flavor from the actual dough. Really thought this place would be better, but it is average, maybe slightly above average.

Exactly what you think of when you think of firegrilled. Nothing to write home about. But decent. Crust is good cause of fire tho. That’s a review.
