Pizza Review
Opened in August of 2018, there’s some wildly high scores on the OneBite App for traditional, above average, deceptively thin but doughy, seemingly standard New Jersey football pizza. Neither crispy nor crunchy, the dough is moderately tasty, soft & surprisingly thinnish for a football pie, with a firmish undercarriage & minimal flop; however, the body of the dough tears with each bite instead of breaking off due to lack of crisp, while the crust is thick & pillowy along with mild char & void of crunch. Slightly sharp & somewhat lava-like, the shredded mozzarella blend is smooth & melty with a creamy texture & better than basic flavor, while containing a very manageable amount of grease. With quality consistency & terrific taste, this is quintessential football pizza cheese. Not especially sweet, the sauce has a signature style & some shocking bite. Tangy & zesty with in-your-face attitude, the sauce is spiced & seasoned well with tremendous kick. A truly spunky tomato sauce blend that grabs you, the jazzy flavors are bee-bopping & scatting all over my mouth. While the overall scores seem to be artificially inflated most likely by loyal friends & family, this is very solid, better than generic, Friday night, North Jersey neighborhood football pizza. Not a travel pie despite the uniquely peppy sauce, but delicious pizza nonetheless that could rise in the ratings with crisper dough.
